Why is St. Clare Audio no longer free?

St. Clare Audio was once free, but rising costs for hosting, bandwidth, staff, and audiobook production make a fee necessary. Your subscription helps fund new recordings, cover site expenses, and ensure the service remains ongoing.

Why won’t my audiobook download play?

Audiobook downloads come as a ZIP file, which is a compressed folder that contains your MP3 audio tracks. Most computers and mobile devices can open ZIP files automatically:
On Windows or Mac: Just double-click the file and it will extract (unzip) into a normal folder. Inside, you’ll find the MP3 files you can play with your preferred media player.
On Linux: Right click on the ZIP file and click “Extract Here”.
On iPhone or iPad: Tap the ZIP file and your device should extract it. If not, you may need a free app such as “iZip” or “Unzip” from the App Store.
On Android: Many phones open ZIP files directly. If yours doesn’t, you can install a free unzip app from the Play Store.
If the file extracts but still won’t play, make sure you are opening the MP3 files in a standard player (Windows Media Player, iTunes, VLC, etc.).

How does the streaming membership work?

Streaming memberships are $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. You’ll get unlimited access to our growing library of audiobooks during your subscription period. Memberships auto-renew unless canceled.

Can I download audiobooks instead of streaming them?

Yes! Downloads are available for $0.99 each in standard MP3 format. Once purchased, downloads are yours to keep and enjoy forever.

Do I need special software to listen to audiobooks?

No. Downloaded audiobooks (after being unzipped) are in MP3 format, which plays on nearly all devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. Streaming works directly in your web browser.

Can I cancel my membership anytime?

Yes, you can cancel at any time. Your membership remains active until the end of the billing period you’ve paid for. Partial refunds are not available once a billing cycle has started.

Are downloads refundable?

No. Because digital downloads can’t be returned, purchases of MP3 audiobooks are non-refundable.

Do you store my payment information?

No. All payments are securely handled by Stripe, and we never store your card details on our servers.

Do you use cookies?

Yes. Cookies help keep you logged in, track performance, and remember your subscription settings. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work properly without them.
